Savannah or Atlanta?

I just had a brainstorm......instead of going to DC for a few days after our trip to Charleston....we should do Atlanta or Savannah.

Which would you do in November?

I was just looking at the ghost tours you can do in Savannah. I'm intrigued!

Savannah (Atlanta is a nice place to live but not much here for tourists other than an aqaurium and the Coke museum).

I agree with barnum. There should be no decision here. Savannah is Georgia's Charleston.

Where do we want to stay? Is a B&B a better choice?

I think it looks like we should go for a downtown location to stay....correct?

We loved Savannah - if we went back we would stay in the historic district.

Savannah, I'm not sure why anyone would go to Atlanta on purpose, particularly in a car.

I've lived in Atlanta all of my life. There's more to see than the Aquarium, and the Coca-Cola Center. There's Centinnial Park, Grant Park, The Martin Luther King Building, and many others.

Atlanta has grown and has undergone a lot of change, but most of it has been for the best.

You can still drive to Atlanta, in a car...safetly. Despite popular belief. It's like you can tell if someone has never been to a place, because they have a "not so positive" aspect about it.

However, if you are in to a slight faster pace type of trip, then you definately go to Atlanta. If you just want piece an quiet, then you should go to Savannah.

I travel to Atlanta frequently on business. It is unfortunate that living in Charlotte we seem to be making the same mistakes in infra-structure & letting developers ruin our community (much has Atlanta has). Although Atlanta has it positives, the negatives are also there, & fairly obvious. My greatest fear is that Charlotte will continue down that same path.

No question. Savannah. Elizabeth's is an incredible restaurant. Reservations are required.

I have visited Atlanta a few times. I hate to admit I've never taken in the historic aspects of it. It's been shopping, eating and working at the market when there.

From what I've dealt with the driving around is difficult.

I wish I knew better where to stay and how to get around.

Savannah will probably do for this trip.

frenchtoile, I should have also added that we have never been to Atlanta, so I cannot compare. We just enjoyed Savannah so very much.

There is oddles of info here, if you don't get many replies to your post, just type in Savannah into the ext search box and enjoy!

Have fun!
