San Jose, CA - What to wear?

Well, it does depend on the neighborhood, so I'll focus on downtown. Khaki's and a polo (Ralph Lauren of course) would be great. For footwear: Geocs, Puma's, Cole Hahn's are fine. Just leave the Prada ballet flats at home.
Sorry, I could not resist. ;-)

We're very casual out here. You can get by in casual clothes almost anywhere. It does gets cool in the summer evening. Everyone's always surprised at that.

No, Faina, no black!

Sorry, I'm out of the loop here: what's this in reference to?

If you're going to San Jose, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

Wait, no, that's San Francisco.

trippinki started this thread (BACK IN APRIL) but didn't get a rise out of anyone. It was supposed to be funny.

Have no idea why smelling57 topped it. Seems strange to answer a question that wasn't asked . . . . .

Thanks Janis. I'm glad somebody "gets me". LOL. There were these posts about what to wear on planes, and other places. I guess not many here get my sense of humor. ;-)

Flip-flops and a tank top that leaves your midriff exposed no matter its size. Hey, I live near SJ so I speak with authority, though not from experience.

Hey Betsy, I commute via the lightrail through downtown San Jose. Summer season is scary, with those tank tops, LOL!

trippinkpj, You made me grin but I used to live north of San Jose.
I would have thought at least black with the pert little Raider cap.

If you are a man, just wear a pair of dockers and a polo shirt with your company or project logo on it that you got for free You will blend right in.

If your logo reads "Google," you'll stand right out. It's a good thing, as Martha says.

If you have business casual on, you can go anywhere and not feel over or under dressed. The Valley is much less "proper" than San Francisco and just about anything goes.

I hope you enjoy your visit!

J_correa,

Don't forget to accessorize!

Badge w/ lanyard, glasses, cell phone or blackberry on belt clip...
