san francisco hotel with parking

Am feeling a bit desperate as we leave early Saturday morning for our USA trip. I have reservations everywhere except for our last night in San F on 30 Sept which is a Saturday. It may be that hotels don't want one night only at the weekend - I have tried Columbus, Coventry, Chelsea and Cow Hollow with no success. I no longer want a 'nice' hotel- anywhere with parking will do - we have to get to the airport next morning. I dont really want to stay at an airport hotel if we can help it. You have all been so helpful it would be great if you have any more suggestions. Its my own stupid fault I now realise I should have done this booking first not last. Many thanks.

Did you try the Pacific Heights Inn? I recommended it on another thread

http://www.pacificheightsinn.com/

It is on Union Street and parking is in front of your door. I mentioned that my daughters wedding guests all stayed there and were very pleased. The price was right the rooms very clean and the staff excellent. The location is great too.

If you are willing to stay just about anywhere AND you are leaving the next morning, why in the world don't you consider an airport hotel.
Some offer free parking and free shuttles. I always stay at the Sofitel or Crown Plaza Burlingame. When I am done with San Francisco I run by the a/p and drop off the car then grab the shuttle to the hotel... the next morning I take the shuttle straight to the terminal.
You lose nothing... unless you are planning on staring our your window all night. But then again, you are willing to stay at any ol place, which probably will have no view anyway.

I would 100% stay at SFO. You don't have to be there during the day - you can check in any time even late at night and not lose any "San Francisco time". Plus there is the advantage of priceline - PL is GREAT for SFO area hotels.

I would do all my sightseeing/dinner/more sightseeing and then head down to SFO. Turn in the car and take the hotel shuttle to/from your hotel.

What is the purpose of turning in the car late at night and taking the shuttle back to the airport in the morning? We were planning on using curbside check in to drop off our luggage and then drop the car off. (they do have that for Delta at SFO I was told). Do you have to pay for parking at the SFO hotels?

I did a search on Expedia for 1 night on September 30, narrowed to "free parking" and sorted by city.

Ramada Fishermen's Wharf
La Luna in Marina
Coventry Motor Inn
Buena Vista Motor Inn
Heritage Marina Hotel
Chelsea Motor Inn
Town House Motel
Broadway Manor Inn
Travelodge at the Presidio
Days Inn San Francisco Lombard

And there are so many more! Please notice I've skipped all "civic center" area for safety reasons.

I don't know anything about the above hotels - check Trip Advisor.

By the way, in your original message Coventry and Chelsea are not available - this is because the "big guns" like Expedia, Orbitz, others, buy them out.

Can you use those websites out of England?

And to answer my own question - yes, you can use your credit card, while making reservation press the button "billing address outside of US"

Either way works fine... there are 2 factors to consider:
1. Many airport area hotels do charge for parking. The Sofitel does not... but check the others to determine.
2. What time is the 24th hour of your rental? For me, dropping off the night before often saves me a full days rental.

The Laurel Inn on the edge of Laurel/Presidio Heights offers free parking.
