San Francisco Dine About Town 2007
Reminder - January is Dine About Town month in San Francisco. Dozens of restaurants participate for lunch, dinner or both. Special 3-course meals at great prices ($22 for lunch, $32 for dinner) at One Market, Oola, XYZ, Bacar, etc. - all upscale places where a meal can run far, far more.
Great time to schedule business lunches or some catch up on your friendships. I met friends for dinner last week at Les Amis on Sacramento Street - Les Amis is the location formerly known as Zare. The prix fixe menu had some nice choices, including profiterole for dessert with espresso-flavored ice cream. Need I say more? Go and eat at a participating restaurant!

Faina -
I called One Market before making a reservation for lunch and they confirmed that although it's a promotion for VISA, any payment method will do. Went out for lunch and paid cash for the DAT menu - it was fab! I know the website makes it seem like it's a VISA-only thing, which makes me a tad bit annoyed. But get out there and eat.

Wow, all I can say is thanks for the link. There are some really good choices listed. I'll have to see if I can include a couple of them this weekend, we are there Monday, too.
Thanks for bumping it up Faina.

ilovetotravel,
I think the money goes to the restaurant to pay for the food and overhead. The discount is just promotional. They are willing to discount meals in order to get more exposure, hoping for repeat customers when the prices go back up.
