We will be going to SA for a weekend in July to take care of some business, and we're taking our 3 kids along - 4.5 years and two 2-yr olds. Any thoughts as to what we could do with them? I'm not sure they're old enough to really make the crowds and heat at SeaWorld worth it. Is Fiesta geared toward little ones at all? Any ideas are welcome! Thanks!

Neither Seaworld nor Fiesta are really geared towards younger kids. The shows at SW can be enjoyed by all, but i suspect your 2yo will enjoy one and then call it a day. Both parks have some rides for kids, but in my opinion you are better off paying for the same rides at your local carnival than treking around either park in the July tx heat.

If you have a choice, I would highly recommend you stay at the Hyatt Hill Country resort, right near seaworld. All the kids will love it, especially the pools. There's a kids camp, but I don't know if they accept 2's, lower limit may be 3. The Hyatt HC isn't cheap, in my opinion it's by far the best thing going for families w/ kids in SA.

I second staying at the Hyatt Hill Country. The 4.5 year old would probably enjoy Sea World.

You'll probably end up at the River Walk at some point but please try to keep the little ones in a stroller. There is no guard rail or fence at the water, so it would be pretty easy for a toddler to toddle in.

Fiesta Tx has a children's section with rides like teacups, cars that automatically go around a track, etc. If you decide to go, I would get there when they open, do the rides then go to the waterpark. They have an area designed for kids with a shallow pool and a climb scape that the four year old would enjoy. Be sure to put a life jacket on all of the kids, drink plenty of water and put sunscreen on them.

I would avoid the riverwalk; it will be hard to control three preschoolers on the walk ways by the river. Even a double stroller would be tough to maneuver.

They would also probably enjoy the children's museum downtown.

I second the motion about small children on the river walk. Watch the kids. I once saw a woman fall into the river who walked out of it totally soared but different for a child falling in. The River Walk is not Disney World. It is a real river and there are no safety railings. Its the Real thing.

...plus it's a horrible pea-green soupy looking thing that I wouldn't want any part of my body to touch, let along my child's!!!

We were on the Riverwalk this weekend and saw many parents struggling to get their children through the crowds and over the uneven walkways. Neither the parents or the kids looked like they were having fun!
