San Antonio B&B?
I think I have it down to Painted Lady on Broadway and Brackenridge House. Heard Painted Lady may not be a safe location, but otherwise sounds very nice. Does anyone know anything about either of these 2 properties?
Thanks in advance,
Annie

I'm not familiar with the location of the Painted Lady. I know it's not far from the San Antonio Museum of Art but that's about it. Brackenridge House is located in the beautiful, historical King William district. A friend of ours lives here and the only "complaint" she and her husband have is about people stopping by to ask if their house is for sale. ;-) I would choose the King William area.

Painted Lady is on my route into town. It looks really neat from the outside, but each time I pass it I think what a horrible location for a beautiful B&B.
King William, by contrast, would be a super area to stay in, so I'd choose Brackenridge over Painted Lady

I stayed at the Painted Lady Guesthouse a few years ago. I appreciated it for its relatively easy walking distance to the Alamo, Riverwalk, places to eat and the Autobuses Americanos bus depot for my continued travel to Mexico. The place had a bit of a Gay & Lesbian following, although certainly was orientationally mixed, with honeymooning couples staying there also. There was an air of fun and "campiness" about the place, with rooms named after various cultural icons (Mae West, Amelia Earhart room); aspects of the furnishings one might describe as "fabulous". I'd recommend.
