Who out there knows the streets of San Miguel?

I'm looking for advice from someone who really knows the layout of San Miguel.

We've been offered a house rental at the corner of San Antonia & Guadiana. The price is fantastic (a 3-bedroom for one week for $450) but I'm unsure about the location...the owner said it was about a 15 minute walk to the centro. Is this a new part of San Miguel? Is it too foreign-laden? Is it (and this is vague), charming?

There is major street construction ongoing in that area.
I don't care for the San Antonio barrio W and SW of Ancha San Antonio from the Instituto.
Ancha San Antonio is a very busy street connecting to Salida a Celaya and the turn off to Leon/GTO. to the S and the

sorry, I'm packing and the routers are doing their own thing.
... and the detours have made the mostly nice barrio of Guadiana a traffic horror.
The price sounds too good to me.
The walk into the "Centro" is fairly easy as we have a doc in Guadiana and walk to his office.
I'll be arriving on Monday and will give you an update next week.

thx. mikemo, I appreciate the help.

We'll be there in late July so maybe the construction will be over?

yes, the price is insanely cheap but the house really does look good in the photos...I found it via Craig's List...the Mexico City version of it.
