S.Beach in August?

Except for the rare possibitly of a Hurricaine......would I be crazy to take my wife away for a long weekend in S. Beach in early Aug? We live in Chicago, but thought a weekend in Fl might be nice? Heat? Humidity? Will it be dead? I dont mind an afternoon shower or two. Thanks!!

Thanks BeachBoi! That's exactly the reply I was hoping for. Looking for a fun open, minded time with great people, food and drink! Though S.Beach might be the place. Thanks again!

I agree with Beachboi.

I think the summer heat just adds to the sexy sultry-ness of South Beach.

Rent Bad Boys II. It was filmed in Miami and South Beach in August.

Mike, I will be there early August too and I have done it before several times. Yes its hot but Miami Beach rarely gets above 92 degrees as it is on the ocean and gets nice breezes but the humidity will be high. It will not be dead but the hotel prices will be better and the ocean water will be perfect.

I think the hippest hotel is The Shore Club. It is the sister property to the Delano. While you cannot beat the show stopping stunning lobby in the Delano, the Shore Club has it beat hands down every other way.

You must have mojitos at the pool bar at the Delano because it requires a walk through the lobby.

The Hotel has a very hip pool. It is on the roof of the hotel. It is another place to savor a mojito then go downstairs and have dinner at Wish (rjw's favorite).

Oldies but goodies B.E.D., Rumi, and The Forge for dinner.

Bring the plastic. If you want to sit in any of the bars, you have to buy a bottle and the minimums are around $275 per.

Sky Bar (at Shore Club), Nikki Beach Club and Mynt to see and be seen.

Summer is when South Americans show up in South Beach because it's cold in the southern hemisphere.
