I have been to it but it was quite a few years ago. I also have been to the PCC for one too. The one at the Royal Hawaiian was a little more intimate. (We could see the whole pig preparation from our balcony at the Sheraton.) The one at the PCC was a bigger production of dancing, music and food. I only mention that because I have something to compare it to.
I really love the Royal Hawaiian! The grounds and hotel are just fabulous. The luau was really nice. I would recommend going.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Annikany...I would consider the PCC one but it seems so far away from Honolulu and we won't have a rental car and other transportation seems a bit pricey...It is costing $99 a piece for the Luau...Kind of stretching our budget so I thought walking to and from the Luau would save a bit...Any other advice would be appreciated.

We went to the RH Mai Tai Bar for cocktails one Thursday evening at sunset. The Luau was just beginning on the grass area, though we didn't know that in advance. The entertainment was so good (right next to the outdoor bar)that we decided to stay, and order dinner from the bar. We could see and hear everything, without actually sitting at the long tables inside the ropes. Just an FYI.

Your welcome jannieween.
The PCC is far away from Waikiki. You will love the Royal Hawaiian. I also thought it was done twice a week. It would be wise to reserve early though.
Have fun!
