Route from Boston to Jackson, NH
We would like to find a nice route - instead of the interstate. About how long will the drive take and is there a lunch spot on the way (not too far out of Boston) that you might recommend.
Thanks!!

Take I-95 North to the Spaulding Tpke (Hwy 4) outside Portsmouth, NH. Take that north to its terminus, where you will pick up Hwy 16. Hwy 16 will take you right to Jackson. There are plenty of places to stop for lunch right off the main exits on I-95. Just watch for the signs.

Agree - depending on time of day, day of week, traffic, just over 3 or up to 4 hours.
It's best to avoid Route 16 through North Conway, which is always awful due to the outlets. After Albany, then after the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112), but before Conway, look for a sign for West Side Road (a left turn). Follow that about 12 miles, go east on Route 302, which takes you back to Route 16 in Bartlett. Jackson is another 3 miles.

Depending on the time of year, day of week and the time of day, Rt. 16 thru North Conway Village may not be bad and it moves pretty good since the opening of the "North/South Road".
The North/South Rd. can be an alternative to taking Rt. 16 thru town.
Traffic is also really bad on Rt. 16 coming into Conway Village (not North Conway) from the South. This can sometimes be backed up for a couple of miles (before the Kanc Highway) and does not move along very fast.
