For what it's worth, USAir has loads of flights in and out of Key West (EYW.) I've flown in from Tampa, Miami, and Atlanta. Not sure about the current situation, but USAir was the dominant carrier in Key West.

Romantic places to stay: Little Palm Island, or Hyatt's Sunset Harbor.

Having been to all three, I would have to say for what you want to do It is between NO and Key West. NO is great for food, music, history, sightseeing. Key West is great for sunsets, cruises on the water, relaxing, Rum Runners. I would say which atmosphere do you enjoy. I happen to enjoy them both. As for San Diego it is just another city to me, albeit a nice city, and to far to travel.

Gosh, SaraLM, we certainly wouldn't have much fun together on a trip! If you don't like NO, I doubt Key West would be your cup of tea either for many of the same reasons.

I have been to Key West 3 times and think it is a wonderful town. There are quaint bed & breakfasts on every corner and I think those are much more romantic than a large hotel. Key West is known for it's famous sunsets. There are several sailing charters that offer sunset & champagne cruises- very romantic. The snorkeling and diving are also magnificent. There is plenty of nightlife and resturants- everything between candle light dinners to late night dancing (Ricks has an upstairs dance floor that looks over Duval St. and is very fun if you like that sort of thing).

Don't go expecting great beaches, they are small and few & far between. There is a lot of exploring to be done and everyone rents mopeds- the best way to get around!

If you're seriously considering NOLA in November, check availability and book forthwith. Hotels fill up quickly for November (lots of conventions, etc.).

(Gosh, but Montreal is one of our favorite romantic destinations!)

Here in San Diego we also have great sunsets - watch for the green flash! - and dinner cruises. We also have delicious margaritas and fabulous California wine and, to make it easy to enjoy all these things, smoke-free bars and restaurants.

Weatherwise, San Diego could be very warm during the day and chilly at night, but the weather has been so weird for the last while that it's harder to predict.
