Restaurants New Year's Eve

OK, I'm guessing you're serious about wanting to know what "moves us". First of all you never put a location in your title. If your title had the names of the restaurants you were asking about or at least the city, maybe you would have gotten more response. Secondly you posted twice and within three hours of posting you posted this rather negative post. That doesn't show much patience on your part. You had to make this choice within three hours?

Hello CalgirlSusan: I am sorry I sounded negative, but, believe it or not, I need to make a decision as soon as possible. In my original message I included the city, NYC, and the names of the restaurants: Bellini and Avra. I was asking for opinions on those two restaurants for the New Year's Eve celebration. Your opinion and everyone else's are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Angie, I'm not sure why I clicked onto this post just now. I hadn't seen your other ones, but when I click on your name I find your previous posts. I suggest you post one more time. This time make the title of your post, "Bellini, Avra, or other for NYC New Year's Eve?"
I normally pass over such general posts as the way you've titled yours, and I'm sure many others do too. I can't help you with your two options, nor have I ever spend New Year's in NYC, but I assure you if you post your title the way I suggest, anyone who does know those restaurants will see it and be likely to post a response.

It's not true that nobody answered.
Unless someone here happens to have visited all three of those places, preferably recently, no one can really help you too much.
Even so, on New Year's Eve, all bets are off. This is simply not the best evening for expecting "atmosphere" and "relaxing".
And, your ages may be significant. If you're in your twenties, you may not appreciate a room full of over 40's - and vice versa.
After 20 years of trial and error, we finally found the perfect New Year's Eve dining/party destination (it's in Montreal) - for us. I've recommended it to many - some have enjoyed it, other not as much as we have.
Keep in mind that, for the big bucks charged, and because of the "occasion", your expectations will be very high.
