Restaurants near Taos?
Husband, kids 9 and 11, and I will be skiing at Taos Ski Valley. Any restaurant suggestions for the ski area as well as the town of Taos? I welcome all suggestions- any cuisine, any price. Thank you!

Are you staying on the mountain or in the town? If on the mountain, it is ~20 miles down into the town of Taos. Are you willing to make the trek back and forth w/the kids? If so, I will look up some sites to refresh my memory about some of the places where we ate....

In town:
Michaels, Apple Tree, Bent Street Deli, DragonFly are all good with kids
On the mountain:
Tim's Stray Dog Cantina
In Between:
Old Blinking Light, sheva Cafe
I've eaten at all of the above and they are all good food and would work with kids. There are others that are fancier and more expensive, it depends on what you are looking for and how your kids are in more "adult" restaurants.

Doc Martin's at the Taos Inn is a good one. We also ate at a great little place w/the classic beehive oven on one of the side streets, that shoot off the main drag...the opposite direction from the plaza...sorry to be so vague. I was looking things up and nothing rang a bell in my memory. What we often did, was to wander around and see what looked good. We were fortunate that the nights were not terribly cold and so walking was pleasant. One of the very best, authentic NM cuisine meals we had was one night when we could not find anything else, and we ate in the restaurant of the Holiday Inn!! To be fair, it was a Holiday Inn in name only, as it was a very NM type of place. However, I cannot even seem to find it there anymore, so it may have closed. Sorry, thought I could offer more, but we did love Taos and as Mexican food aficionados, we loved the ways in which it was somewhat similar but with a personality all its own. The food there is unlike any other we have eaten, and seems to be only available there.
