Restaurants near Atlanta airport?

My fiancé and I will be spending our wedding night at the Atlanta Westin Hotel near the airport. Can anyone suggest a nice restaurant in the area? Preferably one that takes reservations and is open past 9 p.m.

There aren't any restaurants around the airport -- I would look into the hotel restaurants -- there are a few hotels in the area but apart from that, nothing close and nice. You would have to go downtown or th Buckhead.

Hello. I agree with kapmap. The restaurant at the Westin Airport is in the atrium so I don't think that would work but I would suggest calling the Food and Beverage Manager at the Westin and pre-ordering a special room service meal with some of your fiance's favorites, including a decadent desert. I can not imagine that the hotel would not honor this request and would do their best to make this a memorable meal. You could request a great view room, flowers, candlelight-you get the picture. Make sure you have a camera so that you can have someone take a picture. Very romantic!

Yes, Oscar's is your only real choice (but it's reputed to be a very good one).

Oscar's is great! Ask for table #1 (little romantic one in the window).
Enjoy!

Oscar's is terrific, and only five minutes from the airport, in College Park as I recall.

Oscar's is very good, but for a wedding night dinner I think Travelnow's idea is a great one. Call ahead to request a special room service dinner.

I've been thinking about it. Downtown Atlanta is just a quick cab ride away. Dailey's at Peachtree and International streets is always great (one of the Peasant Group of restaurants). If you have a car, there's a parking deck next door. There's a jazz/cigar bar downstairs.
If you really want to splurge, try Nicholai's Roof on the top of the Hilton - a one of a kind Russian experience. The flavored iced vodkas are yummy.
Another thought, the revolving restaurant at the top of the Westin.
If you want to get "out" of the hotel, these will be almost as close by cab as Oscar's.

I don't know. 2 miles vs 14 miles in a dirty, smelly Atlanta cab is not "almost as close" to me. But maybe Atlanta has finally started to enforce its cab regulations . . .

You are absolutely right, Brian. Oscar's is closer to the Westin - according to Mapquest it's 6 minutes and 2.05 miles away. Dailey's is 17 minutes and 12 miles away. I didn't mean to imply they were equal distance from the Westin. But, the last time we loaded up a group to head to Oscar's from an airport hotel and decided at the last minute to go to Dailey's instead, we were all amazed at how fast we got to Dailey's. When I'm driving, I really appreciate the parking deck right beside the hotel.

My first suggestion was a romantic room service dinner (0 minutes and 0 miles away). But, overnight I started thinking about Oscar's for a honeymoon dinner. I love the food at Oscar's but the acoustics are not good and it can get very loud in there. So, I started thinking about other locations a short cab ride away that may be a bit more romantic or have more atmosphere.

In any case, the best part of Dailey's is the dessert buffet - absolutely killer desserts! I've taken folks there for years for business dinners and to entertain VIP's and have never had a bad meal or experience.

Just brainstorming possibilities...
Perhaps I should have included a disclaimer along the lines of "this map not drawn to scale".

Prestonel - have a fabulous honeymoon!
