Grand Luxe at Venetian is actually also a member of the Cheesecake Factory franchise...shares the characteristics of a mammothly varied menu, but feels less "frantic" than atmosphere at its sister(?). However, both really do serve delicious food...surprising for a chain...but a nice surprise.

In response to NeoPatrick, you can easily spend $20-30 at many Vegas sit down restaurants for soup, salad and a beverage. Buffets are not to everyone's liking, but you don't have to be a competitive bulk feeder to enjoy them or to get a good value.

Well, you may feel that way, but I think paying $20 to $30 at a sit down restaurant for a specifically prepared salad and a drink is far better "value" than helping yourself to the standing salad bar at a buffet and still paying $30 for it. Sorry, just my opinion.

Specially prepared just for you? That doesn't describe many of the salads I've had in restaurants, but if it makes you happy to believe that - be happy. There are many legit reasons to chose a restaurant instead of a buffet - and legit reasons to go with a great buffet. Why trash either choice?

You and I eat in different restaurants. I just came from lunch and I can assure you my salmon caesar was not "pre-prepared". They grilled fresh salmon and freshly tossed a caesar. I would know a caesar salad that has been sitting for 20 minutes -- I've been to enough buffets to be well aware of what a prepared caesar is like.

Your "if it makes you happy to believe that" is beyond rude as well us just plain wrong. Again. Apparently you and I eat at different restaurants.

I'm not "trashing" either choice -- but you seem to be. And you are right that many people have many reasons for eating at either type of restaurant. My original comment was just that a buffet didn't sound at all like what the original poster was asking for -- period. End of discussion.

For the OP and her group, a sit down does seem to be a better option.

NeoPatric - read your posts again. You seem to think that by adding "in my opinion" or "what am I missing" to a snide comment you wash your hands of any responsibility. There are good reasons for choosing buffets and good reasons for choosing a nice sit down restaurant. I recognize that. You don't seem to.

I suggest YOU read my posts again. I DO believe there are good reasons for others to go to buffets -- mainly if they like them. I don't like them generally as much as a nice sit down restaurant and I make no apologies to that effect. That's my right, just as you have a right to like them. But that really isn't the issue. The only issue was that I suggested a buffet did not seem like what the poster is asking for, and I believe we've found that to be true. Why is that so hard for you to understand or accept? You seem truly offended that some people don't like buffets. You have the right to like whatever you want, and I have the same right. You talk about my snide comments and then say something like "if it makes you happy to believe a salad is prepared for you at a restaurant then go ahead". Talk about snide!!!! Get over it. This is indeed a two way street.

I'm not very good at remembering screen names, but suddenly I'm thinking this isn't the first time you've delighted in putting down my answers. You seem to have some vendetta or something. In fact others here have agreed with my point about a buffet not being what the poster wants, yet you seem determined to focus only on my remarks and put them down. Why is that?
