Restaurant suggestions while in Chicago.
I will be in Chicago in July, I would like to go somewhere nice for dinner. I would want suggestions for a meal around $60.00 and under. That is the price range my traveling companion would not go over. Thanks!

If you mean to spend $60 per person you could eat at several very nice places: Roy's (seafood), Las Tablas (columbian), Fogo De Chao (brazillian), Cafe Spiaggia (italian, only in your price range if you order wisely), Reza's (persian), Sushi Wabi, L8 (pronounced late, american/italian).

Thank you annahead. Yes, I did mean $60.00 per person.
Cerlaurie, I really love pasta. I enjoy seafood, well, maybe it would be easier to tell you what I don't like now that I think about it! I cannot eat very hot food, like some Thai dishes, or cajun.
My boss kept saying Chicago, but now that actual reservations are being made and some details are finally getting disclosed, it seems that I will actually
be staying about 20 miles away from Chicago in Oak Brook.

Lots of similar threads for Chicago restaurants in the past that you might glean information from (although I don't know of anything being asked about Oak Brook so you might post a new ? about Oak Brook dining). Just type in Chicago Restaurants in the "search this forum" box.
I like Cafe Spiaggia and Bin 36 but I must confess I'm not a Chicago regular- more of a twice a year weekend shopper to the city. I like checking restaurants out and making reservations on www.opentable.com when possible. It will save you the trouble of making ressies by telephone from another city or state.

Thank you for the tip Amwosu. I was thinking of posting one for Oak Brook. I think I better wait until I get the details!
I will be sight seeing in Chicago for one day, and would like to have a nice dinner that night though.

I just made ressies on opentable for next weekend (taking DS to Chicago for the weekend) and I noticed you can specify various neighborhoods and even various suburbs when looking at restaurants. It might give you a start in the way of interesting spots in Oak Brook.
Also, if you click "restaurants" at the top of the fodors site then click on "Chicago" you can see fodors reviews as well as diners' reviews.

Oakbrook has a lot of the suburban locations of good restaurants you will find in Chicago-Wildfire, Papagus (only location now), Mon Ami Gabi, Tuscany, Cheesecake Factory. Most of those are located at Oakbrook's shopping mall. You should be able to eat for under $60 per person at any of them.
