We will be in NYC this week, Wed-Sun. We have tickets to Wicked on Thurs. I don't know if we'll want to eat before or after the theater and not really sure where we will want to eat. Will it be possible to get in at say Becco, Joe Allen, or Orso without a reservation on a Thur.? I'd just prefer to leave some things open depending on our mood. We are a party of three.

I don't know the answer to your question specically, but I do know that you can always cancel a reservation at the last minute if you decide not to go, but if they're crowded and you can't get in...you're stuck.

I would definitely make reservations at any of the three. They are popular for both pre- and post-theater dining. As the previous poster said, you can always cancel.
PS: It's always best to reconfirm the day before as well!

It's always best to have ressies for anywhere in the theater district - especially if eating before or after - during you may be OK without ressies. These are not neighborhood places with primarily walk-up traffic and without ressies you may have to trek around to several places before you find one with room.

Just make sure you don't make a res at Tavern on the Green. Cancelling within 24 hours of your reservation will cost you $25 per person!

Doubtful you'll get into these very popular and well known places w/o a reservation. You could eat at the bar at Joe Allen's though. Definitely forget about Orso (it's probably already too late).

It's always better to have a reservation, otherwise you will likely be turned away.. You can always cancel (and you should if you decide otherwise).
