Well I live in Palm Desert. There is a great family run italian called La Bella Cucina its next door to Old Navy and Target at the cross street between Highway 111 and Fred Waring. They dont take reservations for under 6 people but you shoudl be abel to get a table if you call ahead and check how busy it is. Its very popular with locals and tourists alike. The other decent italian is next door to LAbertsons at monterey and country club. Otherwise you have the very upmarket one called Mamaginas on EL Paseo but quite expensive. These are all palm desert.Buon appetito!

There is also a good one right in the heart of PS on S. Canyon Drive. Can't remember the name, but they had great food last time we ate there.

We had fantastic dinner at these:

Al Dente

Riccio's

I just noticed right this minute that the name of the owner of Al Dente is Riccio. Hmmm maybe that's why they are both good. Ate at these on separate trips.
