Becco #212-397-7597.

We eat there so much, I have them on my speed dial on my cell phone and I live several states away.

The homemade pasta special is one of the very best deals in the Midtown/Times Square area.

Carmine's is booked up? That could be a blessing in disguise, as you can do much better!
Becco is one good alternative.
How much do you want to spend per person and what types of food (besides Italian, of course)?

Closer to Rock Ctr than the others, better by far than Carmine's, bigger than Becco. Pre-theater (ie order by 7pm) I think~$28/person.

Is that $20-25 before tax, tip and drinks? It makes a big difference.

You can check menupages.com for menus and comments on many NYC restaurants. For Italian in the theater district, I like Cascina on 9th av, although that's not that close to Rock. Center.
