RESORTS IN FLORIDA FOR THANKSGIVING
I understand the Amelia Island Plantation Resort has a wonderful Thanksgiving package for families. We are from South Texas so I wonder if the temperatures in Amelia Island may be to cold for us on Thanksgiving. Does anyone know if any of the Sanibel, Naples, Boca Raton, or Orlando resorts have such great activities planned for Thanksgiving? Thank you all for helping me get my family together for Thanksgiving. My kids ages are 21, 18, & 16. We are all spread out this year - one in Boston, one in PA, and we are in Texas.

good luck - also, if you put "amelia island" into the search this forum box at the top, you will see lots of threads about amelia isl and places to eat, etc and trip reports
you can check the weather thru the resort website usually or through www.weather.com
the answers to your other post provide a link and also many ideas for resorts to look into in florida
good luck

How about the Vinoy in St. Pete? It's on Tampa Bay, near the Pier and downtown. The Gulf coast beaches and Tampa are close by and the restaurants are excellent. Best of all it's just a great place to walk around and enjoy the scenery.

Orlando? That will take more than a simple shuttle to the beach!!! LOL
CasaYbel on Sanibel is worth checking into, and of course South Seas Plantation on Captiva. The worst problem with either, particularly the latter is the long drive if you want to do things away from the resort. Are the "kids" content to hang around the resort, or are they going to want to go do things?
What about Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club which is really close to lots of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping in Naples and sits right on the beach?
