Rental car in Naples

6 girls doing a weekend trip at the Ritz in Naples in October.
Should we rent a car ($300) or take taxis to/from airport and downtown Naples for dining/shopping?
Thanks

Hmmm....if there are 6 of you, you will probably have to take two cabs, which will mean double the cost. I think I would rent the car. The Ritz is pretty far away from downtown Naples shopping/dining, so I'm sure you would run up quite a fare with a cab, plus, if you're shopping it's always nice to have the car to toss your packages in, if you get loaded down.

The Ritz (beach resort) is about a 15-20 minute ride into downtown Naples, and that's where most of the good restaurants and shopping are ... You will definitely want a car.

You should be able to do MUCH better than $300, but, even at that, it's only $50/pp. Get the car. It will be cheaper than taxis in the long run.
