Spending $160-$250 for the two of us to see a Las Vegas spectacular just isn't in my budget (it'd put way too big a dent in my "gambling" budget). So, what shows might you recommend in the budget category ($40-$50 pp)? Would like to have a "date night" while there, with us dressing up a little, having a great meal in a place with "ambiance", and a show after. Hubby might like a "girly" show, if it's entertaining, and we both would enjoy magic or comedy. Any ideas?.....

Last time I was in Vegas I went to the star impersonator show at the Imperial Palace. Some of the impersonators were better than the stars themselves. Had a blast and it was very reasonable. Slip the guy a twenty for the best seats.

Agree that the Legends in Concert show at the Imperial Palace is fun, and there are usually coupons around town in magazines etc. There is also a coupon for $10 off the Bravo show (found coupon at Alamo Car counter) and the price is $35 with the coupon, it's at the Sahara. It was a breezy, very enjoyable show, but we enjoy flamenco guitar, salsa and dancing. Others might not like it so much. Charo is the star and she may even pop out into the audience and ask your husband to dance- so if you are jealous sit in the rear!

If you have transportation to downtown, the best 'bargain' meal with ambiance that you will ever eat is probably at the "Pasta Pirate" restaurant in the California Hotel. Very highly recommended, especially the shrimp scampi.

On the strip, there is a restaurant called Kiefers on top of the Carriage House Hotel (behind Harley Davidson Cafe) that is a best-kept secret in Las Vegas, not too pricey and quite romantic at sunset. If you're classic movie lovers, the Warner Brothers Cafe in the Venetian hotel has a nice atmosphere and is not over-expensive like some of the theme restaurants tend to be.
