Recent Times Article on NYC Reasonably Priced Hotels?

I seem to recall, within the past month or so, seeing an article in the NY Times that listed several reasonably priced hotels, maybe even under $100/night. But I can't find it now.

By any chance did someone here bookmark that article? Thanks!

You can probably find on the NY Times website.

But - prices depend very significantly on WHEN you will be in the city - Nov/Dec prices are at least twice what you will pay in Jan/Feb.

And I seem to recall that while there were some bargains at reasonable hotels, some were at b&bs with stair and shared facilities - and rooms are usually minute.

Also - expect those hotels to fill up far in advance.

You might look at the Jane hotel for real bargains.

The places listed in the Times articles are prices for Sept - yours may be more or less - depending on time of year - and they almost all have shared baths. And I didn't see anything for less than $100. Assuming it's for a couple that can share a double bed - look at Priceline but probably not at this time of year.

If you are willing to do a hostel try the Hosteling International which gets good reviews - and is about $40 or so for a bed/locker in a shared dorm room.

That's the one, ekscrunchy, thanks!

Actually I'll be going on the peakiest of peak seasons, so I know not to expect a real bargain. Thanks for the advice!
