Recent Times Article on NYC Reasonably Priced Hotels?
I seem to recall, within the past month or so, seeing an article in the NY Times that listed several reasonably priced hotels, maybe even under $100/night. But I can't find it now.
By any chance did someone here bookmark that article? Thanks! |
You can probably find on the NY Times website.
But - prices depend very significantly on WHEN you will be in the city - Nov/Dec prices are at least twice what you will pay in Jan/Feb. And I seem to recall that while there were some bargains at reasonable hotels, some were at b&bs with stair and shared facilities - and rooms are usually minute. Also - expect those hotels to fill up far in advance. You might look at the Jane hotel for real bargains. |

The places listed in the Times articles are prices for Sept - yours may be more or less - depending on time of year - and they almost all have shared baths. And I didn't see anything for less than $100. Assuming it's for a couple that can share a double bed - look at Priceline but probably not at this time of year.
If you are willing to do a hostel try the Hosteling International which gets good reviews - and is about $40 or so for a bed/locker in a shared dorm room. |
Peak season in NYC is from Labor Day through the first Monday after New Years.

That's the one, ekscrunchy, thanks!
Actually I'll be going on the peakiest of peak seasons, so I know not to expect a real bargain. Thanks for the advice! |
Read the article about the bargain Manhatten hotels - and saved it - but always hleps to have the online cite.
Thanks. |
