Raddisson Hotel South & Plaza Tower in MInneapolis

Has anyone stayed at the Raddisson Hotel South and Plaza Tower in Minneapolis? It's a few miles from Mall of America. How is the area? Safe? How is the hotel? Thanks in advance for your information.

The Radisson is a perfectly fine hotel. The area is very safe, but very typical suburban hotel that you could find in any city. The hotel is 5 miles from the Mall of America. If you want a suburban hotel, stay closer to the mall. If you want a true Twin Cities experience, stay downtown Mpls or St. Paul.

Lottie has it right. Radisson South is a nice hotel, relatively close to MOA-maybe a 5-10 minute drive. It is in a very safe area. I would think downtown would be more fun for things like great restaurants and nightlife, close to the museums and theater, etc. What are you coming to Mpls for? Not just the mall, I hope?

Thanks to you both! We will be in Minneapolis, spending two nights and one day at MOA, on our way to Yellowstone.

I know everyone has different tastes, but I think if you spend your one day in Mpls at the mall you will be missing what we have to offer here. I guess if you have kids with you, they WILL like Camp Snoopy (the amusement park in the mall), but the rest of the mall is just a mall only bigger. If you search previous threads about Minneapolis there are several that specifically list alternatives to the MOA when in Mpls, especially if the weather is good when you are here. Maybe you can bring the printouts of past posts for other ideas if you get tired of the mall...Oh, and I would feel just as safe in the city of Minneapolis as I would at the Mall of America. If you do have kids with you, see if there is a Children's Theater performance when you are in town, top notch stuff! I live in the suburbs but go to the city for dining, theater, walking the lakes, concerts, etc. So, there's my 2 cents!
