OK -- hubby and I live in Upstate NY and cousin and her hubby live in Charleston, SC. We think it would be fun to meet somewhere (other than our home bases) for a long weekend. Either one of us would be willing to fly or drive up to 3-4 hours from home. Where would YOU choose to get together???

More info: we DO all like warm beaches but it's not a must -- only a preference.

Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. Sun, gambling, good food....this time of year, no kids.

Atlantis is $$$$$$megabuck expensive. Go for Bermuda. Rip-off actually. Especially the food.

Or, if you are staying in the states, try: New Orleans, Kiawa (sp?) Island, or Washington DC.

Atlantis is for trailer park folk who have saved up enough money to visit an island near the Caribbean.
That place is such a joke.
Rooms (in the older 2 towers) that look like they belong in an older Hampton Inn, smelly, 1960's decor in the older towers, super-cheesy Atlantic City type decor and facade, unbelieveably overpriced food ($38 chow mein, $44 pasta that tastes like it's from the buffet at Harrah's casino).
If you think I'm exaggerating do a search on the Caribbean board.
You'll find that Atlantis is one of the two most maligned places south of the USA.

The management at Atlantis, trying to gouge as many dollars as they could from every nook and cranny.

How about Virginia's Eastern shore, or anywhere on the DelMarVa peninsula?
