OK -- hubby and I live in Upstate NY and cousin and her hubby live in Charleston, SC. We think it would be fun to meet somewhere (other than our home bases) for a long weekend. Either one of us would be willing to fly or drive up to 3-4 hours from home. Where would YOU choose to get together??? <BR><BR>More info: we DO all like warm beaches but it's not a must -- only a preference.<BR><BR>Thanks!

Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. Sun, gambling, good food....this time of year, no kids.

Atlantis is $$$$$$megabuck expensive. Go for Bermuda. Rip-off actually. Especially the food.<BR><BR>Or, if you are staying in the states, try: New Orleans, Kiawa (sp?) Island, or Washington DC.

Atlantis is for trailer park folk who have saved up enough money to visit an island near the Caribbean.<BR>That place is such a joke.<BR>Rooms (in the older 2 towers) that look like they belong in an older Hampton Inn, smelly, 1960's decor in the older towers, super-cheesy Atlantic City type decor and facade, unbelieveably overpriced food ($38 chow mein, $44 pasta that tastes like it's from the buffet at Harrah's casino).<BR>If you think I'm exaggerating do a search on the Caribbean board.<BR>You'll find that Atlantis is one of the two most maligned places south of the USA.<BR>

The management at Atlantis, trying to gouge as many dollars as they could from every nook and cranny.

How about Virginia's Eastern shore, or anywhere on the DelMarVa peninsula?
