Question regarding Disney Resorts
This is our first trip to Orlando. I've put it off long enough, my daughter's 14! Does anyone know if you are staying at one disney resort, can you use facilities, specifically the pool, at another disney resort? Thanks, and I fear I will have more stupid questions in the coming days!

I would think you would be fine....
All the resorts have the same looking key cards to my knowledge and you are definelty allowed in the other hotels to eat and see shows so i would imagine pools would be fine. My family has stayed at the "value" resorts for the last few years and they usually have 3-4 pools within walking distance from your hotel room (at the sports, music, movies etc.....A pool's a pool though..

I would suggest calling the Disney resort you are staying at and asking if you are allowed on the other properties to swim. I was at WDW last summer (and stayed off-property for the frist time) and noticed that the Disney employees were very strict regarding the pools at their resorts. My husband and I walked from Epcot over to the Beaches and Cream ice cream shop (at the Beach and Yacht Club) to eat lunch. We were stopped by a Disney employee and asked to see our "resort ID." (this ice cream shop is located next to the large pool area) We explained that we were only there to eat lunch and he let us continue on our way, watching us to make sure we did not stay at the pool.
I remember reading that the WDW properties have made some changes regarding pool use b/c so many non-guests were using the resort pools. Again, you should call Disney and ask. In past years, WDW allowed you to move from one resort to another to use pools but they were making some changes b/c some of the resort pools are so popular and the guests staying on those properties had trouble using their own pools. You might also check out www.mousesavers.com or www.mouseplanet.com. Both of these websites contain helpful information about Disney resorts. Have a great trip!!

First off, better late than never! I think 14 is a great age to experience WDW. About the pool question... As far as I know, you used to be able to "pool hop" at the Disney resorts, but not anymore. Just pick a resort that has a great pool (Coronado Springs, Yacht & Beach Club, Polynesian)so you won't be tempted elsewhere. Or get the park hopper plus passes which include the water parks.

Sorry--they definitely check for resort ID at the Yacht and Beach Club pool.Only people staying there may use their pool. Some resorts may not check.
