If posters ask for your recommendations, you post them. Oherwise why Fodors? Not telling posters some place sucks also sucks. If some dive is mediocre, people want to know, and not waste their money. If you know something bad about some place and dont tell, thats nutty. IMHO

There are also certain Hawaii hotels that people suggest and IMO are huge disappointments. But my criteria is different than theirs I guess. I can't stand resorts where people let their kids run wild and non hotel guests use the lawn chairs. But what is annoying to me may not be to other people. I never try to dissuade a person from giong to a particular hotel but offer other options and let them make their own choice. Or sometimes I just give up and not respond, I guess they'll find out on their own

GoTravel, I did go by Carnegie Deli today and although they don't have a menu posted outside, I went inside to check it out. Their hot pastrami sandwich and your brisket of beef sandwich as well as most of the deli meats are all now $11.95. They do have some sandwich platters with combination sandwiches with sides for $19.95. I think that was as expense as it got. Not that it matters to me, but I did see a couple sandwiches come out, and I'd say they are a little larger than Katz'. I'd call them "obscenely large" instead of merely "ridiculously large".

and then there are the entire desitination spots that are tourist traps.

I guess it could be argued that Paris is a tourist trap. Or the Grand Canyon. Or Las Vegas. Or Disneyworld.

Where does it all end?!?
