Put-inBay

My girlfriends are planning to go to Put-in-Bay this summer. Any recommendations for a hotel/motel that is off the island ???

Why not stay in Put-in-Bay where all the action is? See: http://www.put-in-bay.com/ For the Chamber of Commerce and a list of accommodations and other info.

If you are only planning a day trip out there, consider staying in Sandusky. There are loads of hotels there and you'll be close to Cedar Point if you plan on going there.

On Catawba Island. There is a Fairfield Inn at the corner of SR 53 and a Comfort Inn. There is a Holiday Inn Express on SR 53 and SR 163 which is new, right next to McDonald's. There are also several motels in Port Clinton. If you are into b&b's, The Bashful Mermaid in Port Clinton, about a block from the lake, gets rave reviews. Let me know if you have any more questions, I am from the area and have a summer place there.

The best website for lodging information is http://www.putinbay.com all of the hotels on the website will allow you to have your own beer in your rooms. Some hotels actually BAN you from having alcohol in your rooms. Always ASK FIRST!!

I was just up at Put-in-Bay this weekend and got to see the new Put-in-Bay Resort Hotel and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW !! The pool is huge and the bar is a swim up bar. I met the manager and she took me on a tour and the rooms are nicer than any hotel I have ever seen. I found them at http://www.putinbay.com and the hotel website is http://www.putinbayresort.com I booked a few weekends there this year and can't wait to get to the island!

If you are looking for information about the island, the best site is http://www.putinbay.com There are several places that are really nice including the new Put-in-bay Resort. Be very careful where you book, some hotels there dont let you bring any alcohol into your room like they are tring to be your mother and father. The hotels on http://www.putinbay.com all are guest friendly and you wont have that problem there. Enjoy the BAY!!

We might be going to Put In Bay sometime late September/early October. I have not been to P.I.B. since I was maybe 10 years old! (now 43). Anyway, once you see Perry's Monument, what else is there to do? Also, is it better to take the Jet Express, or Millers Boat line? What about renting a golf cart and the prices?

Emucon-If you are planning on taking your car over to Put-in-Bay, the Miller Ferry is the only car ferry to the Island. It leaves from the Catawba Island side, S.R. 53 and drops you off at Lime Kiln Dock on PIB. You can take either the shuttle bus, taxi (3.00 per person) or walk up the hill and to the right is E's Golf Carts. Golf carts are the way to see PIB. I think E's charges around $40.00 a day, you need your driver's license to rent. The Jet Express leaves from downtown Port Clinton and docks in downtown PIB. Golf carts are more expensive downtown. Golf carts are the mode of transportation or there are some bicycle rentals. You can take your own bikes over on either ferry.

Besides Perry's Monument, they have a new butterfly conservatory at Perry's Cave which is very nice. The Historical Society has a small museum and that's about it. Plenty of shopping/bars to visit. Heineman's Winery is a nice place to have a bottle of wine and sit outside in the garden.

The reason why some hotels are banning
alcohol is they are tired of their rooms getting trashed...
