Princeville/4 Seasons room type

Going on honeymoon to Hawaii in February, splitting time between the Princeville and the 4 Seasons Maui. Any recommendations on type of rooms we should stay in? Is it worth the extra money for a Jr. Suite at the Princeville or an Ocean View at the 4S?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, it is worth the extra money for the Jr. Suite as the standard room is not very impressive. However, be aware that the room has NO balcony, just floor to ceiling windows! (Did they tell you that? Probably not!) Still a very nice room, though, but I prefer a balcony, especially in Hawaii!!

As for the so-called "ocean view" at the 4S, don't expect too much in that department, either, as the only rooms that are truly ocean FRONT are just the expensive suites, i.e., even the "ocean view prime" category is just an angled view--and at those prices, no less! So, in answer to your question--will the "ocean view" be so much better than the "partial ocean view? NO!!

I'm curious, for those of you who have stayed at the Princeville Resort did you feel isolated? I know there's fewer restaurants and less shopping, etc. in that area. .....Let's just say it's less built up than the Poipu area. We stayed at the Hyatt when we were in Kauai and although we thought the Princeville resort looked very nice we wondered if we'd get bored? We don't just hang out at the hotel so what's there to do up in that area?

Are you using a travel agent? If so, they should be able to get you an upgrade at the 4S since it's your honeymoon = )

I stayed at the PV last year and would definately recommend the cost of a suite. The suites are in the main building and all have great sunset views. Your new bride will love the jacuzzi bathtub as it as its own window, again with a great view.

Some of the Jr. Suites at Princeville do have a sliding door onto a patio/terrace. Just make sure to request one of those--they also have the incredible view looking toward "Bali Hi", and the Jacuzzi tub in the window. Can't imagine being "bored" with the area or that view!

If you like to sight see, snorkle, hike or swim, you will not be bored on the North side.
