Priceline for Las Vegas hotels

Has anyone been successful in using Priceline.com for getting an hotel room in Las Vegas? What kind of price and what star rating did you use? What time of the year?

Just an alternate way to reserve.
I went thru my BCAA or AAA in the states yesterday.
I got a deluxe king unit in the Flamingo for mid August mid-week 2nights @$50 each night then they give you $55.00 in Dining coupons.
Pretty happy with that.
Good Luck

For lots of info about Priceline, including a list of hotels that people have won, and their star ratings, go to www.biddingfortravel.com Go to the home page, scroll down to Hotels section and then to the link for Nevada/LV hotels. One of the top messages will include a list of the hotels that people have reported getting. This site, which is not officially affiliated with Priceline, also gives lots of tips about bidding strategies. IIRC, LV has one of the very few hotels in the US that Pricelne has rated 5 stars.

Check www.biddingfortravel.com. Saw this from another post on Fodors. People post what they bid and what hotel/airline they got.

Might be a useful tool for you.

Definitely check biddingfortravel.com. Keep in mind though that LV weekends thru priceline are almost impossible.

Dennis,

Back in April I bid South Strip 3* for 50 dollars and got Treasure Island. It was for Sunday-Friday. I have never heard of Priceline having inventory for weekend dates. The 3* hotels that come up for South Strip are: Rio, Treasure Island, Flamingo, and sometimes Harrahs and Ballys. The only 5 * that has come up is Venetican. It seems you can almost get just a good a deal if you go through hotel website because their offer may be 10 dollars more or so, but you get drink/food coupons, tickets, etc.
