Typically Las Vegas hotels don't release inventory to priceline until a few weeks before the date. Therefore, you will have to wait until Feb to see if there are any good deals. This is especially true of the nicer properties. I believe that most people book a fallback hotel and then cancel it if they find a good deal on priceline.

Vacancy rates in Las Vegas are generally driven by conventions. Go to http://www.lasvegastalk.com/conventions/ to get a sense of what's going on during your stay. I recollect, as well, that for LV, Priceline doesn't work as well because of strong yield management by the individual properties.

We used PRICLINE in Vegas for Columbus day Wkend Oct12-17th. We were flexible enough to stay in very luxuious places on the dates they "appeared available", by following ALL the tips at www.biddingfortravel.com...tons of info there. Worked like a charm! JW MARRIOTT $74-3days, VENETIAN one nite at $79 & Hyatt Lake Las vegas for an embarassing $55. The key to PL is to be patient! I really wanted the VENETIAN and would have liked a few days there ,but knew only one would be available and even when we bid 10 days before checkin they countered for $110..but i was positive for that one day we would get it...Sure enough about 5 days if not 4 before we left we got the $79!
