John D - thanks ! I hadn't thought of the heat factor, I know many who complain about the temperature affecting pets which is why someone told me it is so important for htem to be in excellent health, well hydrated, and then you still hope for the best.

HUH? A Fodorite says a question is stupid? Come on, people, if you don't like the question (by the way, a short one, you don't have to spend 10 minutes just reading it!!) just skip it, nobody is obligated to answer.

Momma, are you asking about kernels sold in stores, or ready-to-eat popped corn?

As for a question why would anybody carry pop-corn... being on a tour, I bought a set of several types of corn for popping and brought it home for the whole family to enjoy. Nothing strange about it.

But I wouldn't transport ready-to-eat type, it can smash, you need to wrap it with care, personally I wouldn't bother. It's not something really exotic or overly expensive.

If popcorn would spontaneously pop itself in midair, don't you think the airlines would have capitalized on this fun feature? How I wish it would work! I can picture the flight attendant pulling open an overhead compartment to shower popcorn on the delighted passengers! A fresh, healthy snack for all! Why, they could add spices for flavor: one overhead could have cheese, another some curry powder, one could be salt-free...of course, the butter would get messy. Have to think about that one. But overall, it would be so cool!
"Attention, passengers--it's popcorn time!! Everyone, cup your hands and don't look up!"

Bonise how tacky!! You take things out of the hotel room? My my that is like stealing isn't it? I bet you take those little bars of soap and bottles of shampoo too don't you? No wonder those hotels can not make any money - they have to replace that stuff all the time due to travelers like you!!!!
