In NYC, tourist sites are spread out, so no hotel is central.
It is also easy to take the train between NYC, Philly, and DC.

You will need to drive to the Finger Lakes.

It makes no sense to drive to either Philly or DC. Much better to go on the train (Amtrak) which has very frequent service and tickets discounted if y u buy I believe 30 days out.

A car is a nonsense in any of the 3 cities - there is no place to park it and much of what you want to see is much better seen on foot. For longer distances use subway (NYC) or metro (DC).

Ho many days do you have for the trip altogether? DC is also worth at least 4 days (5 nights) - you can see Philly in a day or two unless you want to take a tour to the countryside (Gettysburg?)

Also, you don't say when you are planning on coming. The climate if this area is very variable - we are now having the coldest Feb on record with an average of about 21 degrees - farenheit.

What's spore? Is that Singapore? If so, you're probably well capable of handling mass transit and should do so. Driving in NYC is brutal. Driving in DC is frequently a mess.
