I agree w/Sue, customers that are ill-prepared for dealing w/you are a pain in the a**. When they ask me a question that I've already answered, I ask them "did you write down what I told you?", they answer "uh, no I didn't, can you repeat it?". STUPID IDIOTS!!!!
I cannot suffer fools easily, and when you deal w/the general public you really start to worry for the future of this planet. I mean, how difficult is it to take SOME responsibility on your own behalf? They act clueless and helpless, they never read the fine print, they want you to make an expection for them, they don't understand business or the industry, etc. They should be put down!!!!
Humanely, of course.

1. Leaning your seat back during the flight into my already precious space. Why should I suffer for your comfort?
2. People holding up everyone and the flight because they're trying to jam their way-too-big "carry-on" into the little space above. Check your large bags please.
3. Maids that "didn't see" the do not disturb sign. Not like I'm keeping vampire hours here, I just don't want to set the alarm for 7a.m. on my vacation, ya know?
4. I know that working in the hospitality field is a hard job, but then again everyone has challenging aspects to their jobs. If I'm a happy traveler and I tip well, would it hurt to crack a smile? It really doesn't take that much extra effort. And if you don't like your job, quit! Life is too short for all of us.
5. Annoying is having room service, or any tab for that matter, and the gratuity is added (ok, fine), but then to linger around and expect a "tip". My wife and I usually tip in the 18-20% range unless the service stinks, so what the Hell? We have to pay the already-added gratuity plus a "real" tip? I don't get it. Then again, maybe I'm just a sucker!
6. And finally.... We all do it maybe, but don't argue on your vacation! Makes us all uncomfortable. Even if you're right, just let it go! As a guy, we should all remember, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" - or something like that! Just use a little "detante" and enjoy what little time away we all have.

Sue: Am in total agreement with you. My favorite is when I answer the phone and the idiot on the other end is EATING something, then mumbles "oh....I just have to finish this mouthful" YOU CALLED ME, EINSTEIN! Have the courtesy of not eating, chewing or swallowing when you dial the phone.

Yes, Noname, but if you're on hold for 10 min waiting for a connection to a customer service operator, you might just decide that the most constructive use of that time is a coffee and donut. Too bad if you get the connection just when you've taken a mouthful.

WHEN will restaurants quit stacking up all the components of a meal into a teetering tower, surrounded by a really great sauce smeared on the plate so you can't possibly taste it without licking the plate?
I'm going to start bringing a teeny spatula to get some of the sauce/coulis whatever into my mouth, and I may start "deconstructing" the pile of entree so I can appreciate each element on its own OR with the other parts.
This is a culinary fad that has GOT to go!

I get aggravated by the people in the back of the plane stowing their carryons in the overheads up front, too. There should be a law that you must keep your bags within 2 rows of your seat.
I think my biggest pet peeve about travel is being ripped off. My son (a size 2T at the time) wanted a Tigger T-shirt at Disney and it was $36! This is an insane amount of money, especially considering that I found the same shirt at the Disney store at my local mall for $14... Or being charged $3 for bottled water at the First Union Center - soda is cheaper. At the M&M store in Las Vegas I bought my kids a small bag of M&Ms colored all sorts of rainbow colors that you can't find at home. The bag contained maybe the same amount of M&Ms that you would find in 2 small bags that you could buy at the grocery store for about $1 total. But at this store it was $8.50. I understand paying a bit more for items, but I get aggravated at being totally ripped off.
