Parking in NOLA
Need overnight parking suggestions for east side of French Quarter or in Faubourg Marigny. My friend and I will be driving and will be staying with friends who have an apartment on Royal from Thiursday -Sunday next week. Parking at the apartment is for tenants only, and there is no street parking available. In previous years, we have parked by the river near the French Market or east of Esplanade. However it looks like those prices have doubled. The friend who has the apartment doesn't live there permanently and is directionally challenged. She can't really offer any good suggestions. She got lost last year driving us from the parking lot to her apartment. Would like to pay no more than $30. Per 24 hour period, if that is possible. We would leave the car Thursday afternoon and won't use it while there. We will leave Sunday afternoon. Thanks for any suggestions.

Could you park in Slidel in one of the 12 Amtrak parking spots? The Crescent is in Slidel about 6PM and arrives in NOL about 7:30PM. The combination Amtrak and Greyhound station is next to the Superdome.
The other daily train coming into New Orleans is the "City of New Orleans" that would be coming in from Hammond.

The CONO gets in to NOL about 3:30 from Hammond. Is it that important to get into the city before 2:30PM?
Also check the Greyhound schedule. New Orleans is on a long list of cities that I would not want to park in for more than 3 hours.
If you do drive into the city and have to park far from the place you are staying, either ride the St. Charles St or Canal St. streetcar.
