Park city in September?

First time staying there. My wife and 4 year old daughter will be joining me for 4 days in Mid september. I'm thinking about doing a vacation rental but am curious to know where the best place to stay is. Obviously we are not going to ski, so a quiet place close to nature seems ideal. We will try and hike as much as my daughter lets us, but we don't want to be stuck in condo ghettos either. Any suggestions? Thanks!

meetntaters,

I live in Park City, but there are so many condo complexes it would be hard to say.

Some of the condos at Upper Deer Valley would be very nice and some around the base of Park City Mtn Resort would be too.

I would suggest starting with some of the property management companys and looking on vrbo.com for places that meet your specs and budget. If you can get street addresses of the potential rentals, you can google map the satellite view and see what surrounds the property. Very helpful!

Come back with a few choices and I'll see what I can contribute.

A lot of the summer activities will be wrapping up by then, but there are many that go as long as the weather holds.

Park City Visitor's Bureau just changed their web site name. Let me check it, but you good also just google that. It's an excellent and very helpful web site with links to everything.

Happy planning!

Fooey - lost a post trying to get the webpage. Anyhoo - love to stay anytime in Park City and good advice from Dayle.

If you want to stay in a pristine place - which might have some deals in Sep - check out Stein's Lodge- mid mountain Deer Valley - and maybe the ever smiling Stein Erikson(a Gold Medal winner for Norway) will be around - and he can tell you about his favorite hikes.

Yes, Tom. Stein's always has great deals in the summer, relative to winter!

I agree Stein Erikson is a great option as well as Juniper Landing. Last time I stayed in PC I stayed at Timber Wolf Lodge which had a lot of space, beautiful kitchen and eating area and fun games and activities we didn't want to leave the place. Another great property management company is VacationRoost.

Dayle- Thanks. I'm looking at a place in Daly Canyon. Is it too much of a hike to everything (I'll have a 4-year-old w/ us)
