Park City activities

We will be in Park City over Labor Day (for our Peace Corps reunion!!) and want to know what there might be of interest to do for those of us who don't want to hike or bike. Perhaps there are some short interesting drives? Is driving to Sundance, one hour, worth it?

I have stayed in Park City and traveled to Sundance about three times during winter. If there is an event in Sundance over Labor Day I would go there. If not, I don't think it would be worth the drive.

Hi Humanone,

I live in Park City. One of the reasons is because there is SO much to do. If you won't hike or bike, you can stroll Historic Main Street, check out the many excellent galleries, shop, have breakfast lunch or dinner in one of the fabulous restaurants. I would particularly recommend Grappa at the top of Main Street. Reservations needed, request an outside table so you can sit on the decks! for something more reasonable, try The Eating Establishment on Main, or The Sage Grill in Kimball Junction, one of the best restaurants in PC.

You can do some of the activities at the base of Park City Mountain Resort (Alpine Slide, Zip Line) or take in a concert. The Farmer's Market is at The Canyons on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Check out the Utah Olympic Park where the Nordic Jumping, Bob Sleds, Luge and Skeleton were held. You can even take a bob sled ride! The Freestyle Aerialists put on an incredible show every Saturday at noon (they jump into a pool). Buy tickets in advance!

You could also drive over Guardsman's Pass to Big Cottonwood Canyon where there are some beautiful, easy walks. Lunch at the Silver Fork is a must.

Shall I go on? Check out www.parkcityinfo.com

Have fun!

Go to the Park City Winter Olympics Sports Park for the Freestyle show, if it's still around. Pro ski jumpers from all around north America spend their summers practicing their jumps into swimming pools. It's cheap (under $10) and pretty cool. A good way to spend a few hours.

There is probably anything you are interested in doing in Park City or within 1 hour. What type of activities were you hoping for? Horses, boating, a river float, golfing, hot springs, 4 wheelers, music, movies, amusement park, water parks, etc.
