Have you had a chance to look at tripadvisor.com? I think that the hotel recently underwent some renovations and some of the things that were problems before have been resolved. The location is very convenient, have a great time in NYC!

I would say the reviews are decidedly mixed as they have been for some time. I think it all depends on whether you get a renovated room.

The location is great. If you got a great deal, that's good. But there are definitely better options around, although maybe not at this late date for that holiday week. I did notice the Shoreham available on quikbook.com at what seems like a good rate. I'd prefer that.

Assuming you are talking about the Park Central in NYC, we stayed there early last summer and found it to be just fine. By no means a luxury hotel but rooms are reasonably large and clean. It's location is quite good too. Very near the subway, a couple blocks from the southerly entrance to Central Park and just north of Times Square.
