Panama City Beach, FL

My college-age daughter and friends are going to Panama City Beach for Spring Break and staying at the Edgewater Resort. Does anyone know how this is rated? And, is it a good location for them? Any details on this would be appreciated.

Haven't stayed there, but from what I remember, this is a big resort hotel. There is a website you might want to check that specializes in some of the southern tourist destinations, including PCB - TripSmarter.com

I have never stayed there myself, however, it is suppose to be one of the nicest resorts in PCB. The website is www.edgewaterbeachresort.com. My neighbors went there three years ago and said it was wonderful. I am not sure of the rating though.

I've stayed there twice. Most recently for a weekend in February of 2002. I think it's the nicest place in PCB. My parents prefer the Marriott Bay Point but it's on the bay not the gulf. I've also stayed at Long Beach, and liked Edgewater much more. Great pool!

I participated in a triathlon hosted at Edgewater last November. Nice place but it is undergoing massive renovation including demolition of some of the buldings. I would check on the progress. -Tim

I read today that 1500 rooms in Panama City are currently under renovation or just plain being demolished. That's a 10th of the rooms there. This was needed - a lot of those hotels that weren't knocked down by the hurricane several years ago really should have been. But it may put a kink in Spring Break!
