Out of these hotels in NYC, which would you pick?
Hi...
I have an option to stay at either the Ramada New Yorker Hotel, Hotel Beacon, and the Comfort Inn Midtown. Any thoughts on these? Is one better than the other? Prices are within a $20 difference. I'd appreciate any thoughts!
Thanks,
Monica

I really liked the Comfort Inn Midtown, which I chose because it's (apparently) the only all-nonsmoking hotel in Manhattan.
It's one of the Apple Core Hotels, a group of smallish budget hotels, all recently renovated.
Staff were competent and charming, room was medium-sized (about 10 by 18) and very clean, the complimentary continental breakfast was above-average.
I liked the location, just a block from Times Square, on a relatively quiet side street with lots of interesting restaurants.
I had room 703, which was quiet because it faced the back of the building. Rooms below this floor might look out into an alley.
On a VERY personal note, I liked the decor of this hotel because it was cozy and traditional, not harsh and modern, and because it used tones of green and gold, rather than the very popular blue/pink/mauve which I don't like.
