Other than Disney stuff - what are some suggestions to do with kids in Orlando?

Discovery Cove rocks, is pricey but worth the expense. My kids favorite thing in Orlando for sure. Check out their website.

Go to this website:

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/

Check out the "Miscellaneous Attractions", "Orlando for Free", and many other forum thread there on other things to do in the Oralndo area with kids. Upon using that forum, we have gone horseback riding (great ride), went to a rodeo, Old Town Kissimmee on a Fri. or Sat. night, and done many other low-priced fun non-park things there.

It would help to know the age of the children and what they like to do.

As schmerl says, giving ages and interests will provide the best answers. See if you library has "Beyond the Theme Parks: Exploring Central Florida." There are LOTS of options.

You may want to drive to Cape Canaveral to see the Kennedy Space Center, rockets, etc. Pretty awesome.

Is Gatorland still there - it is one of the tackiest places in the area but not to be missed. Favorite is the pit where they have gators jumping up to consume chickens strung along on top of the penned-in area. You enter thru a giant plastic gator mouth.

Yes, Gail, Gatorland is still going strong.

P.S. - Don't tell kids, but it's actually educational, too.
