Orlando - Non-Theme Park Things to Do

A few weeks back there was a post here which listed 10 fun things to do in Orlando that didn't involve theme parks. Can't find it anyomre. Any suggestions?

Two things I like doing when visiting my parents (who live in Central Florida)--Mount Dora, a small town with shops and cafes, nice for strolling around, and Bok Tower, a beautiful nonprofit park and gardens, dedicated to serenity and contemplation--certainly different from the WDW hoopla.

Yes, that's the one. Go to www.mountdora.com for more info. I'd say it's about a 40 minute drive from Orlando, but it depends on what part of town you're coming from.

Hmmm, non theme park things to do in Orlando. Hmmm.

You could stay in the hotel room and wath pay per view movies.

You could golf.

You could go the library.

You could drive 2 and 1/2 hours to the beach, go swimming and then drive 2 and 1/2 hours back.

The Morse museum on Park Ave. in Winter Park has a wonderful collection of Tiffany glass. Park Ave. itself is nice for a stroll and window shopping...yes....it's more chain stores these days but still a nice afternoon.
Leu Gardens (near downtown) is a closer alternative to Bok Tower. The Regional history center on Central Blvd. is good for a look at life before Disney.

Franklin, It's a place I have to be for a couple of days, not that I want to be. Not everyone is Dazzled by Disney.
