Orlando-inexpensive car rentals/Univeral Parks

We're flying to Orl. in Nov. - looking for inexpensive car rental....anyone used Americar or Magic?? Are they reputable car companies? Prices on Travelocity are low!
Also - can anyone suggest Univ.Studios vs. Islands of Adventure....trying to decide which park to visit! Thanks!

Can't help you with the cars, but as far as Universal vs. Islands of Adventure, it depends on your preferences. I MUCH prefer Islands of Adventure. I like the theming better and find the rides a LOT more fun. Then again, I do enjoy Universal Studios too. IOA has three great roller coasters and the SpiderMan ride is the best thing anywhere. Theming throughout the islands is fantastic. Jurassic Park is wonderful and has a great ride. Toon Lagoon has two water rides and lots of fun activities. For LOADS of information of the two parks go to www.disboards.com and scroll down to the Universal message boards.

If you like roller coasters, Islands of Adventure is the place to go. If you're interested in movies, movie sets, and relatively tame rides, Universal Studios is for you.

I've consistently used Hotwire for car rentals with great results, but have also had better luck recently with Orbitz (for airfare, hotels and car rentals!). Just be sure to check with rental companies' websites first, to get their prices, then look at Hotwire and Orbitz. Be aware, however, that Hotwire must be prepaid and offers no refunds, so if you decide to use them, make sure you're getting the best possible deal. Orbitz does not require prepayment and recently has had better rates than Hotwire.
