Orlando Dining

Can anyone suggest a good steakhouse or seafood restaurant near the Universal Studios area? We don't have children. We will be without a car so anything that is easy to get to would be great. Thanks!!!!

Del Frisco's (Winter Park area)would be the way to go but that seems like it would be too far for you to go without a car. Close by is Morton's Steakhouse and Ruth Cris, each about 5 minutes away on Sand Lake Road.

Are you staying on Universal property? There are tons of restaurants of all types in City Walk.

We are staying at the Sheraton Studio City (has anyone ever stayed there - I found mixed reviews) so I think we will be very close to City Walk.

Thanks!

Best steakhouse, IMO, is Charley's Steakhouse on Orange Blossom Trail. There are a couple in the area but the OBT location is the best. They provide shuttles from many hotels. Check with the front desk at the Sheraton. You may also try calling Charley's and see if they pick up at your hotel (407-851-7130). Good Luck!

Thank you all. We're leaving for Orlando on 1/13. I'll be sure to post an update when we get home!

It's not a "steakhouse", but Emeril's Tchoup Chop has opened at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal and their steaks and seafood (and everything else) have gotten rave reviews.

I live in Orlando and have had steak at Emeril's and Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific but neither was as good as the Palms Restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel. They're all very pricey, of course. In fact, I also had an excellent steak at The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel as well.

Hey Postal: Since you are in town....about Tchoup Chop: I thought it was ghastly. Very disappointed right after it opened. Have you been? The Sentinel certainly was underwhelmed by it as much as I.

Steakhouses: Vitos is close by on International Drive, excellent steaks and less expensive than Shulas, which I consider the best in Orlando. LMF

Hey, LilMs and other Locals:

I noticed Flemings Steak House is popping up all over Florida. I've been to one in San Diego, and loved it so much I got a couple gift certificates for friends and family in Florida. Have you tried any in the Winter Park, Napeles, or Coral Gables areas? Honestly, what did you think?

Thanks for any info!

Re: Flemings...not yet. Building facade announces its affiliation with PF Changs. I think Patrick has tried. Topping. LMF
