It's known as one of the most romantic restaurants in NY. It likely leads all restaurants in marriage proposals (or is right up there at the top). The food is very good. I'm probably in the minority in that I never found anything more romantic about this place than many other restaurants, although it is a very nice setting, very good service and excellent food.

Great location on Barrow Street, great historic building (allegedly haunted), great service.

Very good food.

The food is so-so. We went there for my birthday for the food and ambiance and were very disappointed with both.
However, there is a piano player there on Saturday nights (he plays other nights as well but I am not sure what the other nights are) that is not to be believed!!! His name is Joe. He plays everything from memory and has a list of 1000 songs you can request. We have gone back to OIBL,TIBS to hear Joe play many times but not not to eat.
