Philly Restaurants??

I would like to purchase a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in Philly.. The gift cert would be for $75-- I would like this to cover dinner for 2..
Any ideas.. (the gift cert is for someone in their late 20's _

Some suggestions, although $75 may not cover drinks and dessert...

-Buddakan
-Loie
-Novelty
-Rouge

All great, hip places for people in late 20's- with good food...

$34 covered one prix fixe dinner for me at Novelty -- including appetizer, main course, and dessert (+ tax and gratuity). They are available Sunday through Thursday.

If you want good food, very good and not too expensive and if they like good Italian food, check out Spasso Italian Grill at 34 S. Front Street.

The food and service are excellent and it won't break the bank and it's great for any age. They are at www.spassoitaliangrill.com or 215-592-7661. Try that and see if you don't agree.

I agree with leesimmons about Spasso, it's a great value for the money. Another italian restaurant that is very good would be Upstares at Varalli.

In terms of seafood, McCormick and Schmicks and Philadlephia Fish and Company are excellent.

I have also heard great things about Friday, Saturday, Sunday;

I second the recommendation for Philadelphia Fish and Company. Great food. I also really like Fork.

Oh yes, I have heard good things about Fork. If they like upscale Mexican cuisine, Tequilas is great. They only take reservations during the week, which gives you an idea of how popular this place is. Average entree is about $30 per person, so this is not Taco Bell, that's for sure.
