One day Grand Canyon rafting trip next week
The weather in peach springs as
next Monday is 30 to 50 degrees in peach springs. Is this too cold
to do
the one day rafting trip? We have an opportunity to cancel but really want to go but afraid of these temperatures. ESP with 10 yr old to 16 yr kids times four. Wondering if I’m reading the report correctly
or if it’s warmwr down bu the river?

This is not a smooth water trip. Even though the rapids will be relatively small, plan on getting wet. The air temp will be in the fifties but plan on the river being colder than air temp. I personally wouldn't do the Canyon until May. If you want to do a raft trip on the Colorado and if it fits into your schedule, you could do a smooth water trip on the Colorado at Glen Canyon dam near Page

The bottom of the canyon will be about 10 degrees warmer than Peach Springs.
Where are you looking to get that forecast? Accuweather shows a high of 68 next Monday - if you can wait a few more days to cancel you will get a more accurate forecast. More than a week out the forecasts are pretty variable and inaccurate. The normal high/low in Peach Springs this time of year is 65 and 40. I think by mid-day that would be decent but I definitely would not want to get wet in the morning when it's still in the 40s. If there's any way to do a half-day trip starting late morning or in the afternoon, I'd consider that but no way would I want to get down there at 8 am or so and freeze for a few hours.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. We have till tomorrow to cancel I’m still on the fence my hard core group is prepared to go. It’s going to be 51degrees when we start and hopefully warm up quickly to 64. They told us not to wear wet suits but fleece and rain gear. And sneakers and wool socks. Uggg not sure whether the bit of suffering iwe will endure is worth a once in a lifetime trip. We may never go back again.

I’m so glad we did not chicken out due to weather. It was my most incredible trip to date and I’m 45 and travel a lot! I was perfectly comfortable and did not get cold at all. It was about 49 degrees in the morning. We came prepared. Fleece pants and top and it was much more economical to wear light rain gear then wet/dry suits. And I think the key to my happiness was the 10 dollar muck boots that kept my feet totally dry! But the best advice I received before we went was that there are no bad rafting trips just bad clothes. I can honestly say
from first hand experience that was so true.
