Ojo Caliente - any recent experience??

Considering staying here for a couple of nights over the holidays and noticed that all of the posts on this are close to 2 years old. Has anyone been here recently? Just wondering how it is doing in terms of comfort, decent accomodations etc. This is such an active BB that when someplace has not been commented on in such a while there is usually a reason!

I have never stayed there, but I think it is still a good place to visit.

It looked nice and interesting, but many years of traveling have taught me not to depend too heavily on what something looks like from their website. Figured in this august crowd someone would have been there recently.

Maybe I'll take a drive up there and check it out for you next week.

Thanks ... it looks worth spending some time at so I think we can wing it.

For future travelers, this place is truly wonderful. It is a perfect blend of holistic, historic and modern. There is an elegant simplicity to what goes on here and it is very comfortable. The baths are amazing but ancient and this is not a Four Seasons spa. The hotel rooms are simple but very comfortable. They have fancier rooms and suites but we loved our hotel room. They have a well stocked gift shop and a very nice restaurant and bar area. It is much nicer than I expected and we are thrilled to be here over New Year's. Definitely a keeper for us. We will be back I am sure.

I loved Ojo Caliente and am going next month. I went there year before last. I planned to stay one night and ended up staying 3. I found it a good location for day trips.
